ITINERARY:
Day-1 Guwahati- Shillong Arrive at Guwahati and proceed to Shillong (100 km/3.5 hrs). Enroute visit Umiam Lake. Time Permitting, visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake. Evening at leisure at Police Bazaar for shopping. O/n at hotel in Shillong.
Day-2 Excursion to Cherrapunjee. Drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth, for an awesome day trip. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later visit Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it. Drive back to Shillong. O/n at hotel in Shillong.
Day-3 Mawphlang Excursion Or Local Sightseeing Shillong. Visit Mawphlang (25 kms/1 hr), a forest area which is considered Sacred by local Khasi community and visitors are allowed via an entry to visit. Its a large forest area (700 acres) where one needs walk around preferably with a guide. OR, guests can do local sightseeings like Don Bosco Museum, Butterfly Museum, Lady Hydari park, Rhino Heritage Museum. O/n at hotel in Shillong.
Day-4 Departure to Guwahati Depart to Guwahati (100 kms /3.5 hrs) for onward journey.
