ITINERARY:
Day-1 Guwahati - Tezpur/ Bhalukpong. Arrival at Guwahati & proceed to Tezpur (180 km/ 4.5 hrs) . O/n at hotel in Tezpur (Guest can also stay at Bhalukpong- 60 km away from Tezpur & entry point to Arunachal Pradesh)
Day-2 Tezpur- Dirang Proceed to Dirang (200 kms / 7 hrs). Enroute visit Tipi Orchadium (some 500 orchids are on display here).Dirang is a riverside town, blessed with exceptional Himalayan beauty and a transit point for travelling to Tawang. Visit Dirang & Kalachakra monaestry. Also, visit hot sulphur spring, said to have medicinal properties. O/n at hotel in Dirang
Day-3 Dirang- Tawang Proceed to Tawang (140 kms / 7 hours) via Sella Pass-The route is blessed with exceptional Himalayan beauty. Sella lake remains frozen throughout the year. Further drive to 10 kms visit Jaswantgarh War Memorial – a memorial to the brave soldier who single handily tried to hold of approaching Chinese from the pass during the 1962 Indo-Chinese war. Later, visit Nuranng Falls where scenes from movie “Koyla” were shot. O/n at hotel in Tawang.
Day-4 Tawang Sightseeing Visit Tawang Monastery complex- comprising of 65 buildings - and is the largest monaestry in Himalayasspend time to experience spirituality of the area. Also, viist Urgeling Gompa, birth place of 6th Dalai Lama. Viist Namgyal Chortan- a war memorial dedicated to martyrs of 1962 Indo- China war. O/n at hotel in Tawang
Day-5 Tawang - Bomdila Travel to Bomdila (180 kms / 7 hrs). Bomdila is a beautiful small town from where one can see the snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. Visit Gontse Rabgyaling monaestry and Thub-chog Gastel Ling Moneastry. O/n at hotel in Bomdila.
Day-6 Bomdila- Guwahati Travel to Guwahati (280 km/ 8 hrs). Evening free for leisure. O/n at hotel in Guwahati
Day-7 Guwahati- Shillong Proceed to Shillong (100 km/3.5 hrs). Enroute visit Umiam Lake. Also, visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake. Evening at leisure at Police Bazaar for shopping. O/n at hotel in Shillong.
Day-8 Excursion to Cherrapunjee. Drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth, for an awesome day trip. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later visit Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it. Drive back to Shillong. O/n at hotel in Shillong.
Day-9 Shillong- Guwahati Proceed to Guwahati. Visit to Kamakhya Devi Temple (a Shaktipeetha), Assam State Museum. Guests can also take a sunset cruise tour on Brahmaputra river . O/n at hotel in Guwahati.
Day-10 Departure Depart for onward journey. Tour ends
